Principles
- What is this choice thing?
- Empowers, actively engage the situation you are in
- Can’t disidentify until you have experienced something existentially
- Can’t avoid
- Allow, accept, embrace before moving forward
- Self-regulate, experience and step back
- No will in identification (framing)
- No center ‘I’ in whatever we identified with
- Goal is not to become centred
- Not all the time
- Act of will, not trying to repel, see the message
- See how it can serve us
- This is top down
- What is the next step
- Transpersonal
- If something is trying to emerge, there will be pain
- Insight - new pattern becomes available
- Not just evolutionary, but also revolutionary
- If you get lost in identification you are holding on to the pain
- Requires active open mindedness
- Self is not conditionally alive
- Nothingness from which everything becomes
- You can be true to yourself at anytime, be angry, be despair
- Soul self is not conditional

Personal Feedback
- Which ideas have you found the most helpful, meaningful or challenging? Which exercises?
- The initial meditation, thinking big, with a following thinking personal was great. It brought up all of the topics into focus. I was reminded of the edge I have been riding of knowing and not knowing which was confirmed with the section on chaos. The other really enjoyable moment was the gestalt chair exercise. However, I don’t feel like I serious played it up enough and there was plenty of room for me to exaggerate and further feel the narratives. I enjoyed hearing other people’s experience all the same.
- What has been the high point or major learning of this course for you?
- I was really happy to share my wonder of why we would want to develop at all and whether this was the undercurrent of our will. The feedback from Sophie the assistant was valuable and really appreciated.
- What has been the quality of the conceptual content? Its organisation? Continuity? Presentation? Clarity?
- Great to have been given the slides in advance. I was able to read through them and deepen my connection with the content in the course. Strangely, when writing down my values, I took the opportunity to categorise them and I noticed a pattern that they were equally divided to the development of self and the development of other, then I looked at the questions again and realised that the questions were leading to these answers.
- Has there been anything missing from the course or anything you would have liked more of given the time limits? Was there anything which did not work for you or which could have worked more effectively if changed?
- It’s a big topic, but I felt it was done justice. I guess I didn’t move on a tremendous distance from my understanding before the session, but I was gifted the opportunity to explore, which I was more than happy with. I did find returning to the 3 past crisis quite uncomfortable and wondered why I had done this. I guess I had been able to express the pattern between them and the lessons learnt, but there wasn’t anything new that came from it. The down side was that I reminded myself to feel angry over night.
- What comments do you have about the course trainer(s) and assistants? How was your relationship with the trainer(s)?
- Great as always, both Diana and Sophie. I seem to connect with what they say effortlessly.
