Relational dynamics assessment (mid-year)
Progress
One key strength (knowledge, skill, quality) that I observed during semester 1 was
You have a good mind, and are able to assess models, philosophies & your own thinking. You do this in service of a deep, authentic desire to understand yourself & enquire of others (Critical thinking 1, 2 & 3)
A relevant example of this strength is
You have shared with the group the journey you are on this year, and have non-defensively, from a perspective of enquiry and curiosity, reflected on some of the differences that you experience between philosophical and therapeutic approaches to self-enquiry (Self-regulation 8, Relationality 4).
Key development area
One key development area (knowledge, skills, quality) that I have noted in semester 1 is
At times, particularly at the beginning of RD, you would describe what you saw in other members of the group, sometimes with a tendency to offer a way forward.
I would encourage you to keep focusing on your inner experience in RD and in the training (Self-regulation 3 &9).
In particular, you have expressed curiosity about the potential interdependence between mind, body & feelings, and your experience of this. I’d encourage you to continue to be curious about what this means to you (Relationality 2).
I’d also encourage you to continue to be curious from a strengths-based place, owning the valuable contribution you inevitably bring to the group as well as what you feel you need to work on (Relationality 6).
A relevant example of this is
Earlier in the RD process you expressed the perspective that rather than focusing on difficult material, it would help the group to focus on the positive. I wondered how this reflected your inner world and what you were connecting with in your own experience (Self-regulation 5&6).
